Pocket Lighter Concept

Researching the common Bic pocket lighter's origin, I developed an improved version which would have a longer life-cycle, and be refillable to help reduce waste. Taking vital care to preserve the single motion ignition of the current model, I redefined the form of the lighter to be not only sleeker, but safer as well. Functionality would be improved in fuel consumption and a better child-lock would be implemented as to not impede the lighters operation, even with a loss of dexterity, as well as keeping less experienced users safe from the potential danger of handling an open flame. The casing was made to reflect ease of manufacturing with cheap, simple and reliable parts, as well as having potential for the base construction to be produced with 90% post-consumer recycled parts.
